Senior Client Executive reflection

We have a history of nurturing young talent at Bastion Reputation and we’ve recently seen one of our young stars move onto the role of her dreams in the sports industry.

Kaitlyn Blanchard joined our team nearly two years ago and before she left, she was happy to provide some insights into her role as Senior Client Executive.

While we’re sorry to Kaitlyn go, we’re excited that her time in our team helped set her up for the next big thing.

What attracted you to the role at Bastion initially?

I was looking for a fresh start after two years working in-house and wanted to experience the variety of work and clients that working at an agency offers.

Describe what a regular week at Bastion was for you?

No two weeks were ever the same at Bastion. I did everything from write communications and engagement strategies and prepare practice interviews for media training, to help run workshops, develop media coverage reports, and manage interns.

What has it been like learning from a very experienced team of consultants?

The team has very diverse professional backgrounds, so there was always someone who I could go to for advice no matter the task or client.

What was the most rewarding or enjoyable thing during your time at Bastion?

Every time I got to see the work that I did for a client come to life and the people I got to meet along the way.

So far in your career you’ve worked in-house at a university, and then in the building industry, and in agency working with a whole range of clients. What would you describe as the big differences between in-house and agency roles?

When I worked in-house at a university and a building firm, I only got to experience working in the education and construction industries. But working in an agency like Bastion, I got to work across several industries any given week, including education, government, sport, healthcare, construction, financial services, and technology.

What would your advice be to anyone considering applying for the role of Senior Client Executive?

There are many opportunities to learn and grow in this role, so be open to everything it throws at you!

If you like the sound of Kaitlyn’s experience and think this may be the role for you, or someone you know, then full details and how to apply are available via this link.
