We developed a long-term marketing platform to address the journey Air New Zealand needed to go on for the benefit of all New Zealanders and inspire us all about the future of travel.
Flight NZ0 – our most important journey yet
Our first task was to create a mission’s name.
Our decarbonisation strategy is a complex topic, with many different initiatives underpinning it. We wanted to create a mission name so that whenever Air New Zealands customers saw it they knew we were referring to initiatives that would help them achieve our net zero emissions goal.
We called this plan ‘Flight NZ0.’
Rolling out the plan
‘Dear Future Passenger’ became our creative platform to establish the need for change, and why we were embarking on this important journey for the betterment of all of our future passengers.
The campaign showed our future passengers as experts on climate change and were holding Air New Zealand to account to protect their travel future.
This then drove people to a website, where it showed Flight NZ0’s flight path. From the initiatives we’ve started, and where we are going tomorrow through timebound goals to ultimately reach our net zero.
Flight NZ0 has allowed us to:
-Be proactive in addressing the biggest challenge within Air New Zealand’s business
-Positively shift the corporate reputation of the brand.
-Positively shift customer perceptions of what the airline are doing to protect the environment.
